Halloween 2021!

Well ladies and gentlemen, girls and boys, loons and quines and abdy else… That’s Halloween over for another year. 14 events with stories for families, adults, special needs groups, Girl Guides and quite frankly I think there were a few of the undead in the audiences as well!

Yesterday (the big day itself) I started off telling stories at two sessions at Alford Ski Centre for Aberdeenshire Libraries – well done to everyone who made it despite the torrential rain!

Then it was off to Friends of Westfield Park who set up some amazing decorations for the two Halloween storytelling sessions in the afternoon! We were originally supposed to be out in the spooky woods but unfortunately the rain was lashing down – luckily we were in the Scout hall so the wonderful audience and myself were dry 😃Some of the costumes I saw were amazing and extra bonus points to the three girls who told me about some of the old folktales they knew! 👻💀🎃

Finally in the evening I had a wonderful time as guest storyteller at the Scottish Storytelling Centre’s Good Crack Club Halloween event. (Getting to listen to stories at Halloween is my favourite thing… next to telling them I suppose!)

Here are some photos 🙂

Here’s a link to “Scary Fairy Stories” – a 2 hour storytelling event on Friday evening (6 to 8pm) as part of the Scottish International Storytelling Festival!

“Join storyteller Pauline Cordiner to find out why Fairies are amongst the scariest creatures in Scotland! Irritating imps, plagues of pixies, killer kelpies, tragic tarrans, hot-headed heroines and much more. There will also be a Scary Fairy Lantern Competition judged on the night. So get yourself all dressed up and sit in the candle-light for an evening of Halloween tales for all the family!

As we go deeper into the evening, the stories will get scarier. Pauline will begin with stories best for the wee ones before we all decide the best Scary Fairy Lantern – after which Pauline will give us scarier stories best suited for older children and adults

It’s Hallowe’en!

It’s now the Hallowe’en week and I’m all set for 13 Spooky Storytelling Sessions over the next 7 days!

It’s all about monsters tonight as I’m telling online for Musica Workshops and Little Miracles!

WayWORD Festival – Storytelling and Place

Aberdeen’s Way WORD Festival’s film maker Anais Fourrier got together with 4 local storytelling quines – Jackie Ross, Grace Banks, Sheena Blackhall and myself – to create four films under the banner “Storytelling and Place”

Here’s my video, all about Boddam, where my faither’s folks came from. (Here Be Sea Monsters!)

More fun with Musica Workshops!

It’s been another fun day with @MusicaWorkshops! That means football playing kangaroos, evil factory owners with twirly moustaches, monkeys with Scottish accents, wartime music hall mega stars, sea shanty singing superheroes and of course… a goat on a boat. A productive day!
