Festival of the Sea 2026 – only 5 sleeps away!

Only 5 sleeps until I’ll be running three events at St Mary’s Chapel, St Nicholas Kirk as part of Aberdeen’s #FestivalOfTheSea

If you’re looking for something to do with the bairns this Saturday, 18th July, there’s still a couple of places left for my shadow puppet workshop “Silhouettes of the Sea” – for crafty bairns aged 8+ that like making things! 1 to 2.30pm. Tickets are £5 plus booking fee and their accompanying grown up(s) go free

Then from 3 to 4pm I’ll be telling my favourite tales of the sea – a family storytelling session, “Salty Stores and Tales of the Tides.”
I WILL be seeing just low long it takes for a blue whale to dive from a cloud and belly flop into the sea… come time me!

And finally from 7pm to 8.30pm, are you ready for some ghostie stories from Aberdeen and the North East? Horrible tales from our haunted past and a puckle o traditional supernatural ballads?
Then join me and Sheena Blackhall for some “Secrets, Stories and Songs” – there will likely be a fair bit o Doric and Scots, but we’ll check jist afore we start and will always translate as we go along!
