TEACHERS!!!

The wonderful Sheena Blackhall and I have made some videos for teaching Scots/Doric in schools or as part of projects on Scotland.

We did this as our “good deed” after doing some stories for the Scottish Storytelling Centre during their festival this year.

There are three videos which are FREE RESOURCES which can be accessed by teachers (and home schoolers) around the globe

One for Nursery to Primary 2 – https://youtu.be/rq0719hQCoE|
One for Primary 2 to Primary 4 – https://youtu.be/uSR2fbjbm-k
One for Primary 5 to Primary 7 – https://youtu.be/_vGOnLlodQw

They are all rowed up thegither here – https://paulinecordiner.co.uk/scotstalesandsangs/

I was going to wait until the new term to launch them – however as the term times have changed due to Covid, I thought teachers might appreciate being made aware of them now as they’ll be thinking about planning for the home schooling in the new term.

Pauline and Sheena 🙂 x

A story for Christmas! Grandfather Frost

NAE LANG NOO!!I have been so busy with various Christmas events that I’ve barely had time to sit down – but sit down I did the other night and I was able to record this (shortened) version of Grandfather Frost!

In Russia, the mannie we call Santa Claus is known as Grandfather Frost (Ded Moroz) and he is assisted on present delivering duties by Snegurochka – the Snow Maiden. Find out how he first met her in this charming festive tale! 🙂

Christmas Open Hearth 2

Join us tomorrow from 8 to 10pm at the “Christmas Open Hearth 2” from the Scottish Storytelling Centre.

Join us for the second of two festive Open Hearth sessions with a specially curated lineup featuring some of the finest storytellers working in Scotland, all sharing in the ceilidh tradition. The perfect way to come together and bring 2020 to a gentle close.

Featuring guest storytellers Grace Banks, Pauline Cordiner, Ben Mali and James Spence.”

Winter Stories for the Land Trust

I’m delighted to have contributed a wee tale for the Land Trust’s Winter Stories event organised by Shane Ibbs!

The Land Trust is a charity that is committed to the long term sustainable management of open space for community benefit whose vision is to improve the quality of people’s lives by creating sustainable, high quality green spaces that deliver environmental, social and economic benefits.

Shane has gathered a wonderful group of storytellers from around the UK for two storytelling for the residents who are looked after by The Land Trust on 8 sites over the UK.

Festive stories for North East Sensory Services

It is shaping up to be a busy week of Festive Storytelling!Last night I arrived in the dark at the Duthie Park bandstand with the wonderful ladies from North East Sensory Services and we soon had it all lit up with fairy lights aplenty. Soon we were joined by Lesley Crerar, who would be signing the stories along with me in BSL. The families cosied up in blankets and had hot chocolate and were the most amazing audience, joining in with all the stories!Thankyou so much everyone for making it all so much fun we didn’t notice the chill! 😃
