Aden Fantasy Festival

What a wonderful day it has been at Aden Fantasy Festival!
The weather may have been dreich, but the crowds were in high spirits anyway – dressed in all manner of amazing costumes!

I had some lovely audiences for my Viking tales and the grown ups that came back at the end of the festival to tell me how much they (and their younger ones!) enjoyed the stories fair warmed my hairt! (Although it took a wee while for my tootsies to warm up!)

Here’s a photo of my venue for the day – heroically pumped out first thing by one of Fantasy Scotland’s best along with my Wee Imp who took on the task!

Horror Con Scotland (and a big cheer for Northern Frights)

At 1am yesterday morning, the wonderful Laura from local events company Northern Frights was pulling out all the stops to make sure her latest event, Horror Con Scotland, was a big success despite Storm Babet ravaging the North East. Guests were arriving from all over and had to be taken to accommodatio – some entertainers, stall holders and of course attendees couldn’t make it. The roads were flooded, closed and in some places swept away – no trains, no buses… even taxis.

So I found myself on the stage at the Beach Ballroom a few hours later telling one of my favourite tales – Mr Fox. (Emergency Storytelling is a thing!) The atmosphere was wonderful – I had a wee audience of dedicated listeners at the front and was able to look out on the stalls, costumes, guests… the whole shebang as I told my tale.
