Home from Glastonbury!

Well that’s been an exhausting but fantastic trip away to #GlastonburyFestival where I was just one of the fantastic storytellers telling tales in the #kidzfield and #greenfutures Field!

Loads of photos to come once I’ve got the umpteen loads of washing done 😉

In the meantime here’s a wee post about what’s coming up, and a photo of the Kidz Field opening from Duck In A Dress !

In about half an hour I’m heading off to North East Sensory Services to tell some local tales!

Tomorrow I have my last visit to Turriff Academy as part of my Scottish Book Trust #liveliterature residency! 🙁

On Thursday evening I’ll be helping some local Rainbows with their Storytelling Badge

And Friday, Saturday and Sunday is the Stonehaven Folk Festival! Another post on that to come 😃

Come along for a story!

Festival season is almost here!!

I’m rather busy over the next couple of months with various storytelling sessions and trips. In fact it’s chaotic until the last week of the summer holidays!

Now taking Halloween and (dare I mention it?) Christmas bookings! 😃

STORY CREATION WORKSHOPS AT GILCOMSTOUN PRIMARY SCHOOL

Here are some photos from my story creation project with Gilcomstoun Primary School. Primaries 1 – 7 and I created 6 stories about their learner dispositions – Bravery, Collaboration, Creativity, Determination, Motivation and Independence. What a wonderfully creative bunch!!

Class after class I was impressed by the pupils energy, creativeness and fun 😁

Their stories included – a brave cook, a mystical bracelet, a kraken on top of Marischal College, neolithic farming, a poisonous platypus, and of course an alien toddler saving the day!

The pupils will be drawing the (super) heroes from their stories and I can’t wait to see them. Thanks all at Gilcomstoun Primary for such a wonderful story creation experience! 😃

If your school has learner characteristics/dispositions and you’d like your pupils to work with a storyteller to create some stories – please contact me. Details in the “contacts” page

(Images are from the Gilcomstoun Primary Twitter Page.)

What’s going on?

I have been a very silent Storyteller on the socials this last wee while!

But silence doesn’t mean I’ve been sleeping. (Definitely not. I’ve been told by the small that I tell stories in my sleep)

Instead I’ve been busy closing out/working on a few projects – such as the fantastic story creation sessions at Gilcomstoun Primary School, my #liveliterature residency at Turriff Academy … and of course preparing for the Summer’s festivals!

I’ve got 3 big new stories (not just wee stories, big stories) for my sessions at the Green Futures Field and Kidz Field at Glastonbury and already I’m looking at new stories for Halloween.

Busy busy indeed! 😃

A Busy Weekend!

I’ve got a busy weekend coming up with storytelling sessions at two public events! The second (because I never do things in the right order!) is the Coronation Picnic at @Cragiebuckler Parish Church – 1.35 to 2.30pm 🙂

Expect stories of Regal Amphibians (but not the ones you think), Kings who are a big fan of planting things and most probably an unexpected hero or two 😃

A Book From Chip!

Well what an excitement in the house this morning! A package arrived addressed to “Pauline, Molly, The Fairies and Apollo The Cat.”

Well Molly was already off to school and Apollo was busy planning world domination (as cats are wont to do)… and as I just HAD to share it with someone, I went and woke Fizzy.

What was in the package? Well it was a book from Chip at Epic Tales!! And as you can see, its subject is VERY excited. (For a grumpy dead guy).

Some Lovely Feedback!

Is always nice to get feedback – especially when it’s as nice as this!! This is from my visit to Pitcairn Loge Care Home a couple of weeks back. I got chapping to one of the residents who lived just round the corner from where I live now!

“THE DORIC WIFFIE

We wis spiken til in oor ane tung, she telt stories n guid us a poem r twa. Telt us jokes n sang a song r twa.  We hid a guid time n hope she comes back!”

Thanks folks! 😊
